Foundation Course Programme
The Foundation course programme is for those potential students who have not undertaken a formal degree or equivalent. The cost is deducted from the fees if you then continue on to the full MA. We work alongside you to improve your academic skills, such as academic research, writing, and keeping to a tight deadline. This initiative forms part of our Corporate Social Responsibility programme and aims to mitigate education inequality within our industry.
The Foundation course facilitates access to Higher Education for those who would otherwise be excluded. We believe passionately that everybody should have the opportunity to reach their full academic potential.
This course is for students who do not have the relevant academic qualifications to be eligible for the MA programme. We work alongside you to improve your academic skills, such as academic research, writing, and keeping to a tight deadline.
The Foundation Course is a precursor to our MA Voice Pedagogy - the cost is deducted from the fees should you continue on to the full MA.
The course is open to everybody, and is therefore in high demand.
Our application process:
If you're interested in our Foundation Course, please register your interest using the form at the bottom of this page and we'll send you an application form.
This course is a 3-month programme and is structured to emulate a PGCert module in Music Performance Anxiety.
There will be:
- 4 hours of online lectures accessible within your own time
- Access to our academic library
These resources introduce you to the module topic, facilitating the completion of a Master’s level essay.
The assignment is 2,500 words, and a tutor will supervise you throughout the writing process.
We are now taking applications to complete the Foundation Course in time to start the MA programme in October 2023.
You will need to have completed the course within three months before October 2023.
We are aware that people have different time commitments, and we, therefore, allow for open enrolment enabling you to tailor the course around your needs.
Upon completing the course, the essay is assessed and graded at level 7, and you will be able to enroll in the MA programme.
The foundation course fee will be deducted from the total cost of the PGCert/MA, and the graded essay can be submitted formally as part of the PGCert/MA.
The fee for this course is £1,000 (VAT inclusive).
"Finding the Foundation Course felt like the opportunity of a lifetime.
I was delighted to discover such an inclusive course which was the perfect pathway to enable me to enter onto a degree pathway.
It also was the perfect opportunity to ease myself back into studying after such a long time and build up my academic skills to the level required."
