Sarah Algoet has the privilege of working with a diverse range of singers and speakers in singsing!, the thriving private school and coaching practice she founded in 2007.

As a professional voice educator, Sarah's journey to acquire knowledge and skills is a continuous and lifelong pursuit, driven by a genuine passion for the voice. This means that drawing upon her extensive training, she uses a wide range of methods, techniques, and pedagogies.

Sarah offers online and in-person private and group lessons, as well as workshops, masterclasses, voice retreats and singing holidays; in Dutch, English, French and Spanish. She’s also often invited as a guest teacher for universities, colleges, hospitals, academies, choirs and companies worldwide.

Sarah's commitment to sharing her expertise led her to serve as a visiting professor at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (within the Department of Musical Theatre) from January 2011 to September 2012. She’s also regularly invited as a vocal coach in studio or on location, for solo singers as well as for groups. Fuelling her curiosity and thirst for knowledge, she has engaged in scientific voice research since 2012. This has resulted in invitations to speak at numerous international congresses, conferences, and symposia where she can share her findings and insights.

Recognising the need for a centralised association that unites voice pedagogues in Belgium, Sarah co-founded EVTA.be (the Belgian Voice Teachers Association) in 2011 alongside Lieve Jansen.

In 2019, Sarah launched VocalDrawings.com, a webshop with pedagogical and inclusive drawings for her fellow voice experts.

Sarah Algoet

Sarah will guide you through strategies for teaching different extreme vocal effects such as growl, rattle, distortion and much more, as well as strategies for overcoming any challenges that these effects may present in the voice studio. This is an introductory course to a complex subject - by the end of the session you will know how to make the effects yourself and understand and decode what's happening when you hear somebody making the sound.
