MA Voice Pedagogy Student To Present At PAVA Symposium

We’d like to wish a huge congratulations to MA student Fernando Zimmermann, who will be presenting at the Pan American Vocology Association‘s Hybrid Symposium this week!
Fernando will be presenting ‘Can A Self-Talk Instructional Aid Assist in the Development of Singing Student Self-Efficacy?’.
 
The aim of this study was to verify if there were changes on perceived self–efficacy after using the instructional self–talk – named Internal Command (IC) in this study – protocol.

For harmonica performer and music educator Shima Melvin, this question became the starting point for her postgraduate research with the Voice Study Centre. While developing her approach to teaching harmonica, Shima found herself struggling to explain exactly what was happening inside the instrument when she played.
