Biography

Royal College of Music alumna Rebecca Moseley-Morgan has worked nationally and internationally as a professional opera singer. Now she is a leading exponent of working with mature voices (40 years+) using innovative, science-informed pedagogy based on her doctoral research at UCL. The wider implications from this work have informed her work with singers of all ages and her courses give singers the technical skills they need to deliver the requirements of the music and to maintain optimal vocal functionality.

She has an innovative approach incorporating her skills as a singer, a musicologist and a voice scientist. Optimal vocal function is necessary in order to give singers the tools they need to skilfully execute the musical requirements of their repertoire. This is her ultimate goal.

As Chair of Education for the British Voice Association and she leads a team who devise all the educational events for the association. She works with all levels of individual singers and with choirs enabling them to sing with maximum efficiency and minimum of effort, through one-to-one training, workshops and seminars.

She has devised research-informed training Short workshops for choirs which include:

  • Warm-ups to improve vocal function
  • Optimize breath control
  • Unifying vowels and creating vibrant resonance
  • Why is the ‘men’ of ‘Amen’ always flat?
  • How to apply vocal technique to musical matters

Rebecca’s work has been presented at major conferences throughout Europe and the UK. Later this year she will be giving 5 presentations at the Voice Foundation Symposium in Philadelphia. She is currently devising a new  in-depth vocal pedagogy training course for teachers, conductors and singers working with mature voices, she is creating a day course for choral singers and conductors and is writing a book due for publication 2026.
