Dr Luke Aldridge-Waddon (he/him) is a Clinical Psychology Trainee at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Oxford. His current role is within Psychological Medicine, focusing on supporting people experiencing persistent physical health conditions such as chronic pain and ME/CFS. His next role will be as a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist in the Long COVID Psychology service, Central and North West London NHS Trust, beginning October 2024. Prior to clinical training, Luke completed a PhD in Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience with Professor Veena Kumari, investigating associations between social reward processing and dimensional psychopathology. He has published research in the domains of clinical, health, and forensic psychology, and enjoys collaborating with practitioners and researchers across disciplines. He is an Honorary Research Fellow at Brunel University London and is a Chartered Psychologist as listed with the British Psychological Society. Luke is a recipient of prizes from the British Voice Association (Van Lawrence Prize, 2023) and Dysphonia International (Travel Award) in recognition of his recent research on clinical psychology and voice disorders.

This presentation aims to provide an overview of research investigating psychological features in voice disorders. It will discuss psychological factors which may be relevant in the development and maintenance of voice disorders. It will introduce psychological principles and considerations which may be useful to understanding and working with voice difficulties.
