We are proud of SLT and Voice Pedagogy student, Grace Chugg, for being accepted onto the Integrated Clinical Academic Programme Internship Scheme, which is run by Health Education England via Sheffield Hallam University.

‘My name’s Grace, I am currently completing the PgCert Voice Pedagogy with the Voice Study Centre (VSC). I work as an Advanced Speech and Language Therapist in Gender Clinics in England delivering Gender Affirming Voice and Communication Therapy.

I have been accepted onto the Integrated Clinical Academic Programme Internship Scheme run by Health Education England via Sheffield Hallam University.

This scheme is an opportunity to develop foundation skills in a clinical academic research environment and provide an opportunity to deliver a research project. The goal of the programme is to support me in engaging with research in my work, and my long-term goal is to complete a PhD looking at improving Gender Affirming Care in the UK. The skills the VSC have given me were beneficial in my interview and when writing my application as I was able to use examples of things I have written and workshops I have attended.’

Congratulations, Grace!
