Voice Study Centre Student Cerys Purser to Contribute in Singing for Health Network Webinar Panel!
Saturday 1st March 2025We're delighted to hear that Voice Study Centre student Cerys Purser has been invited by the the Singing for Health Network to contribute to the panel in the first SHN follow-up webinar of the 'Cognitive Benefits' cycle, taking place on 6th March, 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm UK time.
Cerys is the Health Lead for the philanthropic project, ‘Warwick, a Singing Town’. Established in 2021, the initiative was set up to address inequalities in music education provision in schools and to bring free singing opportunities and benefits to the community of Warwick. As well as workshops, drop-ins and intergenerational events, she leads weekly groups in singing for lung health and other health focused contexts and also works with the two hospitals running weekly in patient groups for people affected by stroke, acquired brain injury as well as supporting singing on the frailty and respiratory wards. Cerys worked as a professional singer and in music education outreach before training as a singer teacher and music educator, and is currently researching the role of facilitator in singing for health activities and definitions of health in a town wide context as part of her MA.
