VSC Alumnus Jenna Brown offered a studentship from the ESRC!

We’re delighted to hear that our Alumnus Jenna Brown has accepted an offer of a studentship from the ESRC (Economic and Social Research Council) for her PHD studies.
Jenna’s research has already begun at IOE, UCL’s Faculty of Education and Society and from October will be sponsored by the ESRC and UBEL-DTP (UCL, Bloomsbury and East London Doctoral Training Partnership).
Jenna expressed her gratitude to those who have supported her work so far, including our very own Debbie Winter:

Jenna has authored over 20 peer reviewed publications and conference proceedings, with recent publications on voice and choral pedagogy in the Journal of Voice, The Voice and Speech Review and Australian Voice.

Wednesday 22nd July 2026Yesterday, the Voice Study Centre was delighted to welcome back Dr. Luke Aldridge-Wadden for a fascinating presentation focusing on the intersection of clinical psychology and vocal performance. An NHS Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Aldridge-Wadden delivered an insightful, evidence-informed short course examining how low self-esteem impacts voice users and how educators, coaches, and clinicians can effectively support them in practice.
