Chris Harbeson-Borgelt

Chris Harbeson-Borgelt is a pianist, vocalist, organist, conductor, and voice and piano teacher based in the Greater Louisville area. An active collaborative musician, he performs regularly in recitals, concerts, worship, and theatrical productions throughout the region.

His private teaching is increasingly informed by his interests in accessible, inclusive, and non-prescriptive approaches to voice pedagogy, with particular interests in trauma-informed practice, music performance anxiety, and supporting the individual needs and agency of singers Alongside his teaching work, Chris serves as Associate Director of Worship Arts at Harvey Browne Presbyterian Church and as Music Director/Conductor for New Albany High School Theatre Arts.

Chris holds BA degrees in Music and French from the University of Louisville, a Level 4 Trauma-Informed Voice Professional Certificate from the Voice Study Centre, and Vocal Health First Aid certification. He is currently completing the MA Voice Pedagogy programme at the Voice Study Centre, where his postgraduate work has further developed his interests in performance psychology, inclusive pedagogy, and student-centred approaches to working with singers.

Chris earned his Trauma-Informed Voice Professional Certificate with Dr Elisa Monti in 2024.
