Accent Coaching: Tips for Working with Actors, Singers, and Directors

This two-hour workshop explores accent coaching from a variety of perspectives and includes practical strategies for coaching clients.
Topics will include coaching accents to clients with varying levels of experience, working with directors, adjusting to changing demands on stage or on set, exploring the different needs of actors and singers, and organizing session curriculum.
Participants will gain a wide body of tools they can use immediately in their studio or classroom and additional resources for continued growth.
Rockford Sansom, PhD, MFA, is a voice trainer and theatre professor.
As a voice coach, he has worked with actors Off-Broadway and in regional theatres, Fortune 100 CEOs, United Nations officials, active members of the U.S. Congress, and speakers in TED Talks.
As an actor, he has performed Off-Broadway, regionally, and in international and national tours.
Rocky has published The History of Voice Pedagogy (Routledge) and is the Editor of the Voice and Speech Review
