Cathrine Hopkins is a South African performer, musical director, and vocal pedagogue with an extensive background in musical theatre and voice education. She holds a BA (cum laude) in Musical Theatre from the Tshwane University of Technology and is currently completing an MA in Vocal Pedagogy through the Voice Study Centre (London) in partnership with the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.

Her professional onstage credits include Hairspray (South African premiere, as Tracy Turnblad), The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and High School Musical. As a musical director, she has led numerous tertiary musical productions across South Africa and the UK and served as resident Musical Director at the Peoples Theatre in Johannesburg.

Cathrine also operated a private vocal coaching studio in South Africa, preparing professional performers for roles in over twenty national and international productions, including The Lion King, Matilda, Rock of Ages, The Sound of Music, and Kinky Boots. She is a certified Teacher Trainer with New York Vocal Coaching and is currently the Head Vocal Coach and Musical Theatre History lecturer for both FE and HE programmes at the Performance Academy at Newcastle College and University Centre in the UK.
