Lydia Froud graduated in July 2025 from Voice Study Centre with an MA in Vocal Pedagogy, and her specialist area of study was in acting through song for the pre-professional musical theatre singer. Her interest lies in how we teach emotion to singers for performance - and how that links to safeguarding singers dealing with challenging subject matters, the abuse of power vulnerable performers may encounter in rehearsal, understanding the central nervous systems processes in acting through song, and researching different acting approaches that can be adopted by singing teachers to best support themselves and their clients.
During her MA , Lydia has been teaching 1-1 singing across Surrey, Hampshire, and Berkshire, UK and working as a peripatetic singing teacher, currently based in Farnham, Surrey. Since graduating, she has requalified herVocal Health First Aid certification, led vocal health workshops to primary school teachers, and started musical directing Sweeney Todd for a local theatre group.
