Call for Papers

Overview

We invite abstracts for oral presentations that explore the intersection of athletic training and musical theatre performance. Submissions should be grounded in research or professional practice and contribute to our understanding of how we can better train, care for, and support performers.

 

Submission Topics

We welcome submissions on a range of topics, including but not limited to:

  • Vocal health and conditioning for performers

  • Injury prevention and rehabilitation for dancers

  • The psychological demands of performance

  • Cross-training and conditioning for musical theatre

  • Nutrition for performers

  • The role of physical therapy and athletic training in artistic careers


Guidelines and Resources

 

Abstract Writing Guidance

We suggest that conference abstracts should generally be structured as shown below, be about 150-250 words, and include references. Any extra description can be included as an appendix. Abbreviations should be kept to a minimum and defined at first use.

All abstracts will be reviewed anonymously, so please do not include your name in your abstract. We will collect your name and email address, which will be separated from your abstract at the review stage, to reduce bias.
