Exciting collaboration with the Elite Performers Clinic, Newcastle

Thursday 16th February 2023

The Voice Study Centre is excited to collaborate with the Elite Performers Clinic, at Freemans Hospital Newcastle. Spearheaded by Natalie Eastwood, Ben Cosway, and Pippa Anderson, we have created a formidable team to roll out training on the performer's voice to the Speech and Language Therapy community.

Voice scientist and SLP, Kerrie Obert will deliver valuable training through the endoscopic lens. Ben Cosway and Natalie will share their valuable insights on the delivery of a successful elite performers clinic. They will also be joined by two other leading experts in the field; Tori Burnay and Linda Hutchinson from Guys Hospital and Lewisham. Together, they will deliver valuable training and forge the way for other SLTs to develop important skills in this area. We look forward to supporting the SLT community to build important professional development training.

As a facilitator, it has been a privilege to move forward with community consensus. According to Debbie Winter, the Director of The Voice Study Centre 'It has been a very exciting project to work on. As an established training provider, we are very nimble and are able to financially back a project to bring together the elite training providers in this area. We are able to fund flights, accommodation, and food. These logistic upfront costs often prohibit the pooling of expertise and the organisational time is also problematic. We have freed up the experts to do what they do best and we hope to represent the best in the industry.'
