Our First Completed Cohort Finally Receive Certificates!

We are thrilled that Cohort A started to receive their MA certificates earlier this week.

Our first students began their studies in 2017 and have worked so hard through the last three years to complete their MA in Professional Practice Voice Pedagogy.

A huge congratulations to Cohort A, from all of us at the Voice Study Centre!

Last night, the Voice Study Centre had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Brad Story (University of Arizona) for a fascinating short course entitled "The Vocal Tract and Singing: A Research Overview". Drawing from his unique background in physics, mathematics, and computational acoustics - including early engineering work on vehicle exhaust systems(!) - Dr. Story provided a deep dive on how the geometry of the human vocal tract shapes source sound into voice, speech, and song. What Qualifications Do I Need To Become A Singing Teacher?

Teaching singing is an unregulated profession and therefore there are no specific singing teacher qualifications required. While teaching singing is seen as a competitive industry, CPD training gives the teacher the opportunity to establish themselves and differentiate from their peers. Many modern singing teachers and vocal coaches partake in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses to expand their knowledge of voice pedagogy, which aids in developing their teaching skills and in turn benefits their students.
