The Voice Study Centre, in partnership with the University of Essex, is delighted to present The Art and Science of Accents and Dialects: Bridging Linguistics and Dialect Coaching.
For those who were unable to attend live, the complete event is now available to watch. The symposium features a dynamic two-hour roundtable discussion with panellists Louisa Morgan, Anne Whitaker, Sterre Maier, Beatrice Szczepek Reed, Ella Jeffries, Nina Markl, and Jenru Wang, followed by a 30-minute audience Q&A session.

For harmonica performer and music educator Shima Melvin, this question became the starting point for her postgraduate research with the Voice Study Centre. While developing her approach to teaching harmonica, Shima found herself struggling to explain exactly what was happening inside the instrument when she played. Yesterday, we welcomed back Dr. Robert Sataloff MD, DMA, FACS, for a short course into the diagnosis, medical care, and surgical management of voice patients.
