Dhrupad Kharaj exercises in vocal chords, well being & mental health

Tuesday 2nd December 2025, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM (London Time)

£30 - UK £30 - International

This 2-hour course introduces participants to the ancient practice of kharaj exercises in the Dhrupad tradition, focusing on the deep and resonant lower octave of the voice.

Through guided breathing, slow tonal exploration, and sustained notes, students will learn techniques that strengthen the vocal cords, expand range, and develop clarity and stability in sound production.

The session emphasizes the meditative dimension of kharaj, where voice and breath become tools for inner balance and mindfulness. Participants will experience how the vibrations of low notes create a grounding effect on the body and mind, reducing stress and enhancing concentration. Suitable for both beginners and experienced singers, this workshop provides practical methods to integrate kharaj into daily vocal practice and well-being routines.

By the end of the course, attendees will gain a deeper awareness of their voice as a source of both artistic expression and holistic health.
