Effective Studio Application Strategies

This class will be focused on practical pedagogic applications by exploring effective studio strategies for respiration, pre-phonatory tuning, onset mode, phonation mode, articulation, resonance tuning and balance, range and passaggio negotiation, passive vowel migration, active vowel modification, and the necessary migrations of somatosense and timbre across range.

It will be grounded in the deeply programmed, innate, expressive source of voicing and will assume previous exposure to the principles of acoustic pedagogy as routinely presented by Bozeman.

Join Dr Luke Waddon as he introduces the principles and techniques within cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) in relation to the voice and voice care. He will discuss psychological factors relevant to the development and maintenance of voice disorders and how these might be approached from a cognitive-behavioural perspective. He will describe theoretical concepts and therapeutic components often used within CBT and consider how these might be applied when working with voice users.
