In Aid of the Voices Foundation Charity: An Introduction to Coaching and Mentoring

Tuesday 24th November 2020, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM (London Time)

This Introduction to Coaching and Mentoring webinar will provide an overview of coaching theories that can be applied within a performance context. Coaching is extensively used within the corporate and executive world and is ideal for those entrepreneurial teachers looking to expand their range of services.

We will explore solution-focused and acceptance and commitment coaching in some detail, with time to engage in powerful peer coaching in break-out rooms.

This non-profit workshop is being run in aid of charity as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility Programme. We have chosen to support the Voices Foundation, a charity who provide singing development programmes to teachers in schools, so children can gain sustainable access to high quality music education. For those attending, we ask you to make a small donation of £10.00.

Please note, this session will not be recorded, as it will be based on practical exercises and will require the participation of those who attend.

Voices Foundation works alongside teachers and school communities to transform music education, supporting children’s wider skill development and wellbeing through accessible and inclusive singing programmes.

Unclenching the Jaw: Options from the Physio Lens

Walt Fritz

“Jaw tension” is one of many potential problems facing the singer, and can cause a direct negative impact on the performance in both direct and indirect ways. The underlying cause of jaw issues is attributed to numerous factors (technique, posture, strength, range of motion, etc.), making it often difficult to identify common denominators. Join Walt Fritz as he examines the evidence supporting stretching, strengthening, and manual therapy interventions to address jaw-related concerns in vocal performers, taking into account their unique needs.
