Student Loans Company (SLC) Funding
Due to recent changes in student finance regulations, Student Loans Company (SLC) funding is no longer available for students studying with us under our current partnership model, for the following reasons:
We are a small, specialist higher education provider, working in formal academic partnership with the University of Essex, which provides academic oversight, quality assurance, and validation of our programmes. Delivery of teaching, learning, and assessment sits with us as a specialist college, reflecting the distinctive and practice‑based nature of our provision.
Under revised SLC eligibility requirements, access to student loans is dependent on the validating university delivering at least 50% of the teaching. This does not align with the structure or purpose of our partnership, which is intentionally designed to protect the integrity, depth, and specialist focus of the educational experience we offer.
As a result, and through no change to the academic standing, quality, or validation of our programmes, SLC funding is no longer available for students enrolling with us.
In recognition of the financial impact of this regulatory change, we are introducing a compensatory scholarship scheme to support students choosing to study with us, reflecting our continued commitment to accessibility, transparency, and educational excellence.
Alternate funding options
For those UK based students looking for alternate options to fund their MA, we've partnered with Lendwise*, a specialist education finance provider authorised and regulated by the FCA.
Some benefits:
- The loan period can be anywhere up to 10 years to ensure monthly repayment amount is manageable.
- There are no fees/penalties for early repayment of the loan or making overpayments.
- For full-time students, loan repayments are deferred until the course ends.
