The German soprano, Tanya Aspelmeier, studied singing (lied, oratorio and opera) at the Musikhochschule in Hamburg, where she completed her concert exam and opera diploma with distinction, accompanied by the the Hamburg Symphonic Orchestra.

Over her extensive career she has won several prizes in renowned singing competitions, such as the National Singing Competition in Berlin, and performed numerous opera roles in Europe and internationally. Her repertoire ranges from baroque opera to Mozart, operetta to contemporary music theater and includes extensive oratorio roles and recital programs.

She has taught at the Bremen University of the Arts, the Hamburg Conservatory and the Hamburg University of Music and Theater and was appointed professor of singing at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in 2018.

As a trained respiratory therapist, Tanya Aspelmeier gives international master classes  in singing related breath-body-voice work; often in collaboration with her own singing teacher Margreet Honig (Amsterdam),one of the most famous voice teacher of our time.

Tanya holds  further vocational trainings for music and voice teachers in France, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, USA, Japan and Australia.
