Alumna Success: Zulimar López-Hernández Appointed to Teach Vocal Pedagogy at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico

Our alumna, Zulimar López-Hernández, has accepted an exciting new role: she will be teaching the Vocal Pedagogy course at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico!

Zulimar shared:

"It is a true privilege and honour to have been invited to join the faculty of such an institution—one I have admired throughout my life, and where many of my colleagues and friends have either studied or now teach. Personally, I feel both inspired and grateful. This course is deeply meaningful to me because I have been able to design the kind of Vocal Pedagogy class I wish I could have experienced during my undergraduate studies—now enriched by my experience as a professor at the University of Puerto Rico, my career as an opera singer, and my MA at the Voice Study Centre.

Vocal Pedagogy is such a wide-ranging and multidimensional discipline, and I feel motivated to bring my students the most current, research-informed resources and perspectives. The training I received through the Voice Study Centre has given me a strong foundation, and I value knowing that I can continue to draw on those skills and that community as I develop my work in the classroom."

Congratulations, Zulimar! We are so proud of you. This role could not be more fitting, and we look forward to seeing all that you will accomplish in this exciting new chapter.
