Some historical background will be given but the course will focus on how Janice Chapman’s Singing and Teaching Singing model can be used for both remediation of voice difficulties and developmental teaching. The core components of her model, primal sound, postural alignment and breathing and support will be covered in some detail. A brief overview of the other components of her model, resonance, phonation and the speaking voice, articulation and artistry and performance will also be given.
