Susan Lockwood

Susan was awarded her MA in Voice Pedagogy from The Voice Study Centre and UWTSD in November 2022.

Based in Suffolk, Susan is a spoken voice instructor with over 30 years of experience in various roles. She has worked with The Voice Care Network, in drama schools, and in both the private and public sectors.

Recently, she has provided training for educators in Voice Care and classroom behavioural management. Her teaching philosophy centres on fostering an authentic voice. Having been trained to modify her accent at Drama School in the 1980s, Susan is passionate about preserving and working with the authentic sound.

Her approach considers both the mind and body, adopting a holistic perspective that respects and works with each student's individual identity within a supportive environment that reflects today’s diverse world. She has experience supporting students and practitioners with various learning differences and emphasises integrating different learning styles into her work.
